Question 1- In what ways does my media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

First of all , the title of the magazine will hopefully resonate with the audience I want to focus on as it is associated with musical instruments and the names symplicity highlights the magazines objective of wanting talented bands and artists who have strong talents.My masthead is large and bold so it will hopefully make an impression on the audience in a shop or newsagent.I deliberately chosen a font that suited the style  of other magazines such as Q and used capital letters to capture the importance of the magazine so that it will become strong competition for other contemporaries including NME.

This second element is a convention of popular double page spread as it is a pull quote to interest someone flicking through the pages.The written content is it quite formal so people could relate to and connect with the star.I used a small snappy amount of text that has a normal font so it did not detract from the image and title.

The font for "subscribe today!"was enlarged as it is the most important point in the subscription box. The dark red is typical of this genre as it is not as bright or colourful as we love pop for example which is targeted at a much younger audience.This is the main image for my cover and I tried to incorporate mise en scene in order to deliver a message to my audience.The suit the model is wearing suggests the artist has a sense of style and cares about his appearance.This costume connotes confidence and I chose a male model as the genre will probably interest them more. This image is laid out in the centre of the page as it reduces the white space.
